Comment: hi. i tested a psu with a digital meter. all the voltages are ok except the negative voltage. it's suppose to be -12 volts and it have -11.3 volts. is this normal or will it cause problems? sometimes when i turn the computer on, the power supply kicks out after a second or so, then turns back on. any ideas? thanks.

Reply: (edit)most power supplies are 10% tolerance 10% of -12 is -10.8 VDC Unplug all things not necessary to power up (HD, peripherals, etc...) Power up PC and see if it still performs the same thing. Re-post results What happened to my quote

Reply: (edit)thanks for the help. i put the power supply back in the tower. i had the computer stripped. it's now all together and running great. the problem is...last night it was running great too. i shut down the pc and turned the power bar off it is plugged into. i went to start the pc today and the fans started, but no video or beeps. now it's running good again. i'm wandering if it will start tomorrow?!! it almost seems like after it sits all night, it won't boot? make any sense? got any ideas? i already cleared the bios. there's no bios updates. had the computer stripped and added each piece one by one and booted after each one. tested the power supply. it's a new asus board installed. thanks.
