Power supply tester -5v isn't lit

Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3, 2gb
I have a bunch of "Power Supply Testers". When I plug in any power supply all the lights go on except -5v. What does -5v do and why doesn't it light? According to all pictures it seems normal.

The chances are your power supply doesn't have a -5 volt output at all, it is not needed on modern computers. Older types of memory used the -5 volt rail.

Look at the wires going to the motherboard if no white wire then no -5
