HI. I found out about the new nvidia card and aslo notice that there was some extra cash in my pockets. The thing is, i read that you had to have a minimum 480 watt power supply to run this card. Does anyone know how to find out how many watts your power supply is?? THanks in advance.
You must be talking about the nVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra. I don't understand why you're so concerned about the PSU...if you have enough money to buy a 6800 (about $500), a 480 watt PSU certainly shouldn't put a dent in your wallet...LOL!
Anyhow, here's what Tom's Hardware says about the PSU dilemna:
"To those of you ready to camp out in front of your store to get your hands on one of these cards - be warned! The first barrier on your way to graphics ecstasy is the power requirement calling for a PSU with at least 480Watts. In effect, its not so much the power rating that may prove problematic - it may turn out harder to find a power supply with enough ATX power cables for use with the graphics card!"
