Power supply overheating?

Under high demand programs on my cpu will just lock up, no mouse move or anything. My system specs are: P4 2800 800 mhz DFI PRO875B 512 ddr dual channel 1 40 gig 7200 1 30 gig 5400 4 fans Zalmann cooling (air)
I suspect it is the power supply which is a Antec 350 watt as this is the only thing that has stayed the same after upgrade. My cpu runs at idle around 24c and under load around 37c, i also live in Arizona which may contribute to heat???

At those temps it really doesnt sound like a heat problem, because those temps are fine for that processor. There is a cool program you can you to check power supply levels and temps, its called silenttek, install that and ya might find your problem much easier.

I doubt if its the power supply either. When a power supply overheats it usually cuts itself off forcing a re-boot unless its a really crappy one without any safety circuits.
I would suspect a memory problem with lockups. Get hold of a copy of Memetest86 and give your memory a good checkout.

Im using Mother Board monitor to keep tabs on temp. When rebooting after freeze it is usually in the high 20's low 30's. May be the big ol' heat sink i have on there.

The temps sound about right with quality heatsink/fan. I would follow the memory route as suggested by stuart
Summary: If it really is the power supply overheating, check to see that there is airflow out. The input grill might be clogged up with dust bunnies. ...
Summary: Hellow, I've just got a new pc. After 1houre of working it, the Power supply started getting really hot. And I mean REALLY hot! My cpu Temp = 48° en MB = 35°, so it was only the power supply. But know...
