power supply or motherboard

OS: winxp
CPU/Ram: p4 2.2ghz 256mb ram

i dont know i have a brand new power supply i built a brand new computer and hit the power button the system ran fine but started to turn off automatically after a few mins , now it wont even run the system powers up for no more than one sec.

do you think its the power supply or the motherboard which has the problem would jumpers affect the power on the computer?

This is your third post in a couple of hours and no-one has responded to any yet. One reason might be that you have not provided any information about the hardware you are working with. If you want to get meaningful assistance you will have to provide full information including a complete list of the hardware you are using including model numbers, as well as a detailed description of what you have already done to diagnose the problem.

I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.
