Most computer motherboards have a PSU which adheres to a universal specification named "ATX". All ATX PSUs are the same physical size and with the screw holes in the same place for fixing it to the chassis. The only variation between them is the type and number of connectors for the various hard drives.

So provided you buy an ATX PSU of the same or higher output wattage as your existing one, and check that it has enough connectors of the type that your PC needs, you will be okay.

What are the reason(s) for a power supply change?

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.

You want an ATX ver2.3 power supply with a single +12V rail of at least 20A. More if you are running an add in power hungry graphics card.

Post the specs off the label on the side of the psu Mike. Then answer what Kuwese asked.

If that thing has a FSP 300w psu, you should be in pretty good shape with 2X12v 16a (what the ones now for sale have) rails.
