Building a new comp.. well im buying friend will prob do the building but anyway i have ordered an EVGA 780i mobo and an EVGA 9800GTX GPU amongst other things but im stuck on what power supply to get. Now im not great with computers so as much advice as possible would be appreciated ide prefer a 850watt supply over a 1000+ one but i may SLI in the future so maybe ill need the extra power... can you suggest a power supply to me or what i should be looking for and also is a single rail supply better?
The power supply issue is obviously important, but the card alone wont determine what is best, you need to look at the machine overall. In that respect you need a power calculator of some sort, I found a good link on a page from a computer specialist to this power calculator - Power Calc . Its good.
As for the multi or single rail, take a look at this thread and the link to Johnny Guru .
