My power supply blew up on me. One of the capaciters in the power supply completely went caput. So i put a new power supply in it and fired it up. Nothing came up. So i reset the bios and the bios booted fine. It gives me an error about the cmos battery being low. Changed it and it still give the message. If I go into the bios and set it how I want it to be then save it and restart, i get ablosulty nothing. The computer won't even turn off by holding the power button in like it normally does. but as soon as I reset the bios again it will get to the bios screen. Anyone have any Ideas??

ouch, it does seem like your power supply took things with it. Possibly your mobo. when you get into the BIOS make sure it detects everything. Also try testing the components on another comp if tehy dont.

Within the BIOS is a segment of RAM that is much more volitile than its name suggests. It is possible that the memory within the CMOS that is responsible for maintaining those settings have been fried without actually damaging the BIOS chip itself. The only whay to test this, however, is to replace the BIOS chip (good luck finding a suitable one).
