Hi! ok, i'm trying to find a new power supply to go from 180w to at least 230w. the part number is FSP180-50NI(V) and i don't know how to find a compatible one. I know it's an ATX and it's a specific size too (to fit in there). I tried googling it in many ways, couldn't find the info i'm looking for.

Thanks!

Is there something wrong with your 180W PSU?

Older HP PCs used proprietary PSUs with proprietary wiring. If you have such a system, you will need to buy an HP compatible replacement unit. If you install a standard "off-the-shelf" PSU in a proprietary system, you will fry the system.

Make sure to do your homework before you buy anything.

"Make sure you do your homework before you buy anything" haha... exactly what i'm trying to do :)

Nothing's wrong with it except that i'm gonna add a video and sound card to it, and i wanted to make sure that i wasn't gonna fry the motherboard by doing so.

I'm lucky i could talk to someone that told me there shouldn't be any problems as it is right now considering that i ain't using the whole power supply ever and i'm gonna take out one of the hard drives i am not using at the moment.

Thanks for your answers!

You will find it here and if you look you will see it is a replacement for the one you have.

Thank you very much worldlibrary! I appreciate that. You're right, it is an exact replacement for mine! Thing is that it's not exactly cheap, so i might just wait for that, but i'm keeping it in my bookmarks.

Thanks again!
