Rails are voltage lines such as +3.3v, +5v, +12v, etc.

Generally speaking, you want a non-modular, single +12v unit with enough power to run your system.

Depending on the amount of power you will need (for example, you didn't tell us what video card), you will also need $50-150 to buy one.

What the hell is a 52 in 1 card reader? You have that many different flash memory cards?

a 52 in 1 card reader simply means it can read that many different types and shapes of memory cards. Plus it may also be a floppy drive.

DAN

Didn't you already get advice about the required PSU and were told you needed a quality unit in the 500W range.

below are links to just SOME of your queries about new hardware. At least two of them mention the PSU.

How old are you?

You need to settle on the basic hardware before choosing a power supply. What video card will you use? A 500w Corsair might be fine, but depending on all your choices could be overkill or not provide enough power.

You continue to talk about card readers, blueray drives, aftermarket coolers, and so forth. That's fine but not when you ignore some of the basic choices or change your mind from post to post.

Stick to motherboard, processor, memory and video card...we know you want to pack the case with drives and other bling. Some who have tried to help you are outta here; stick to this one thread and focus a little or everyone will ignore you.

Consider that a GTX275 can use about 20a of +12v power. Next consider that you want to run a crapload of hard drives and optical drives.

So, the 550VX with 41a on the 12v rail for 80 bucks or the 750TX with 60a on the 12v rail for $20 more.

The 550 watt might be a little hard pressed to run all your stuff and a GTX275. The 750 would have no problem and I'd go for it for the extra $20.

Main thing is to spend your money wisely. BlueRay and other hi tech stuff is dandy so long as you don't get it at the expense of buying a good solid psu or core components like processor, motherboard, and memory.

This kid has been posting about his build for weeks now. I've also received several PM's from him. No matter how hard I've tried to help & no matter how many links I've supplied, he continually changes things. Click on his name & review some of his other threads...he even called me out on a couple of them. He does not take advice well & will most likely buy whatever the hell he wants, regardless of what he's told. I guess that comes with being 16. I've already told him he'll get no more help from me...I'm done.
