My husband was replacing the DVD recorder in his desktop yesterday. It won't power up now and I found that the blue and white wires to the power button got disconnected from the power button on the case. I do electronic board repairs so I know I can reattach them but I don't know which wire goes to which pin. I'm assuming it makes a difference.
Makes no difference.
Have you located the 2 pins it connects to?. If so, yeah, it doesn't matter, there's no polarity issue. If you haven't found the pins then check the motherboard closely and see if they're identified. If not the manual should tell you.
