I have a CyberPower 585AVR backup for my PC which has performed well for nearly three years.

My question is: How long do these power backup units typically last (battery)? In my area, the unit's service as a voltage regulator has saved my PC numerous times.

CyberPower? Based on my own experiences, do not wait get a new one now, and a different brand.

I have had three CyberPower UPS's. All of them after about 2 years usage and immediately after a second or third major power outage died. The symptoms exhibited was no power to the battery backed outlets, but the surge suppressed outlets still worked.

You could test it occasionally by pulling the plug. If it fails to keep the system up for the rated length of time, replace it.
