Subject: POST Code 00
OS: XP Home
CPU/Ram: P4/ 512 MB
Model/Manufacturer: emachine
Comment:
I'm working on several customer computers right now and both won't boot. I've done all the typical troubleshooting so I put a POST Code PCI card on both boards. They light up and fans go but nothing on the monitor and the code on the card is 00. Is 00 no POST (dead board?) or something else. I've looked for days and can't find an answer to "What does POST Code 00 mean?"

Help is much appreciated.

You didn't get a code list with the POST code reader?

The 00 code depends on the BIOS:

No list except through the usual methods and 00 isn't listed on any list I can find for any type of mobo. Maybe I'm just missing it.

I Googled and found that error on many links.

Your BIOS type (brand) should show during the startup screens. Then look at the link jam provided.

There is no startup screen. The mobo won't boot at all which is why I'm fairly certain it's a dead board and 00 must mean dead or nothing in this case.

Thanks for all of your help!
