Hi. Trying to trouble shoot this mb and cpu.
The system will not boot. I placed a post pci card in and turn it on with only the cpu installed. The mb has Award bios. The card LED dislays the 12v, -12v, 5v, and the run LED. the code stopped at 9 there are no post beeps.
I try restarting again the Led are the same, but the code changes to F.
The changing of the codes is this a bad mb or cpu. the cpu code is 1
Thanks for you help.

I've only used a diagnostic card once (borrowed from a friend) but as I remember the 'F' indicates a failed post while the "1" next to the cpu indicates it passes. I would suggest you try your best to identify the BIOS and flash it with the latest available. It sounds like a failing mobo.

I sure hope your post is a little misleading otherwise I think you need to pop in a ram card you know is good. Part of the post sequence is testing the ram. If it's not present then of course it won't post.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

Thanks for the help,I try booting with
cpu and ram no other device. Got the RUN LED 12v 12v 5v no code. Then off and depress the reset button. I got a code 8
I also removed the cpu i got no code the
first time then the second time got code 8
which means "test the first 256k DRAM.
Then i tested the post card in a running system I got to post FF and all the LEDs where on. 12v -12v 5v -5 the -5 wheren't
on in the none bootable system. Maybe a short in the ISA slot this is the Description of the -5v LED.
