My BIOS does a RAM test and check before it boots up the OS and about a week ago it tells me that I had one stick of RAM bad in. So I took it out leaving me only with one stick and the computer booted up fine. Is there anyway I could repair this RAM? It's not damged physical, never droppped it, never over clocked it. It just doesn't make sense. How could I go about fixing the stick of RAM?

YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.

You didn't mention how long you had it & if it had been working OK previously. If it's brand name RAM, it may have a lifetime warranty....

Test it with memtest86....

Tom's advice is worth a try.

Clean the contacts with a pencil rubber. They should become shiny, rather than dull.

*AVOID* touching any components. To do this hold the stick by its edges. If you have an earthing wristband - use it.

Often, just unplugging/plugging cures faults caused by a bad contact.

Good luck - Keep us posted.

Good advice. Clean the contacts and reinstall it. Make sure it snaps into place.
