I recently flashed the bios on my PCI graphics card using the wrong rom file. I flashed the AGP version. So, I am getting distortions and random errors all throughout my system. I am currently using my onboard graphics card and as far as I can tell, this card is going to have to be scrapped. I am getting another card (an AGP XFX FX5700LE) soon, but this card is still better than my roommate has and I'd like to pass it on to him. Is there any way of salvaging this card?
Using the NVFlash utility, I am getting a Board ID Mismatch error. I have tried all of the tags to erase the EEPROM and flash any type of rom file I can find that might work. I have tried updating the BIOS with what appears to be the original firmware, but still get the ID Mismatch. Only the AGP firmware is accepted by NVFlash, but it is obviously not the right kind.
If there was a VGA Bios flashing utility that would force the firmware regardless of conflict, I'm sure I could get it to work again. Any advice? I appreciate it.
