Hi ive been reading a lot of the posts, and I still havent been able to find anything that works. My computer recognizes the removable drive and makes the "ploing sound", but when I try to OPEN, EXPLORE, FORMAT or whatever I try it still will not recognize the drive.... can some one help please???

Not alot of information to go on. What kind of drive? Floppy? USB? What operating system? Could be a bad drive. Does the drive (which we don't know of what sort it is) work on another computer?

It is a hp 4gb usb flash drive. In my computer the drive is assigned to removable disk f. but when i try to open i get "please insert disk in removable disk f drive" plus my antivirus gives me a run time error 52 bad name or number message. I looked in disk management and drive f appears with "no media". Ive tried my flash drive on my other computer at my office and it does the same.

I have a hp notebook pavilion dv4 w/ vista.. the other computer not sure, but before it worked on both. Just recently it stopped working.

Could some one please help??
