I know it's not exactly a PC, but...
I'm trying to repair someone's playstation 2 system, but I can't fix it at all so far. Well, when I push the power switch, nothing happens at all. Fan don't spin, nothing at all. What do you guys think the problem is? I've tried new fuses, reseating the power board, nothing happens. I'm stumped. And out of curiousity, does the CPU in a PS2 have a heatsink? Thanx

hi, yeah the cpu in a ps2 does hav a heatsink. the heat since is that big silver metal thing sittin to the left of the dvd drawer.
also i had a problem similar to my ps2 a yr or 2 ago. i took it to a shop to be repaired and they said something along the lines of "i burnt the twat out" lol and i had to buy a new one so maybe its the same thing, its been over used and its just burnt something irreplaceble out, i dunno but just a thought to consider.

My friends daughter bit the center out of a slice of lunchmeat and tried to play it. That play station is dead too. As far as I know the "Hey, buy another one" solution is about the only one available.
