I want to play MP3 files on my old laptop. When ever i try to play one it skips alot, i get about half a second of music then a halfsecond pause and then a half second of music and so on. I have been using windowsmedia player. What is causeing the skipping? Is the laptop just to old to be able to handle it?

First, hit ctl-alt-del and end all tasks accept for Systray and Explorer. Then try to play mp3's. If this works, one of your background apps is interfering.
If not, the program you are using may have a problem with your system(wmp?). Try another player (winamp).

But 150mhz and 80mb of ram should be enough. Its probably an app or the media player.
