i just got a new computer and im up and running again.. hopefully i will have an FTP site up soon .. soon as i get my home network going// Anyways here is my problem.. i recently purchased Compaq 6029 .. I know I know.. but i bought it cause it was free.. long story anyways.. it came with a pioneer DVD burner and i tried using the piece of junk roxio ez cd creator that came with the compaq.. mind you this is all factory installed shizzit.. and it wouldnt burn.. so after trying that i while i decided to uninstall roxio and install nero., i installed it , updated it , installed some aspai32 drivers , and it wouldnt burn.. first it would go to the end then say couldnt write end file.ERROR,, now it burns or least it says it does.. but the disc is blank and unuseable.. and the dvd light flashes during the burn indicating there is an error.. Nother thing is that both my cd rom and my burner on the same ide cable.. factory installed that way ,, can you believe it? apparently compaq doesnt want peeps copying dvds.. Oh BTW if you ever get the displeasure of buying compaq.. DON't there is more junk. crap. etc on the computer then i could ever want. service sucks thats why im asking you guys how to fix this problem? I think i need to install some drivers, i went to pioneer and they got this program but says i need mscdex file to install it.. Windows xp professional and ill be damned where my cd is that i paid for .. this is tragedy in the computer business,.. if anyone has a computer with dvd burner and they have run into this problem or if you know how to solve it please post.. thanks btw specs are Amd 2100 (1.73ghz) 512 DDR 2100 333mhz Ati Radeon ve 7000 32ddr Soundmax Windows XP professional

I own a SONY and thier service sucks as well. That is why I built this one and the wife uses the sony.The sony has a pioneer dvr-103 the first dvd burner and it came bundled with Veritas recordnow dx and it works great .It blows away nero and roxio and there are no conflicts with the native xp roxio. You can get record now max for around 50-70$ I highly recommend it. Just make sure you get complety rid of nero first go to thier home page (aheadsoftware) and get the instructions for complete removel in case the uninstaller leaves any regestry traces behind. xsu there is a firmware update out for the dvd burner I updated mine today. You should be able to get it at compag I got mine at sony. Good Luck and take care
