|Just because the DVD recorder has a digital tuner doesn't mean that it will pick up any digital TV signal. Most (if not all) DVD recorders will only pick up 480p DTV--nothing higher.|
And even if the DVD recorder could receive HD signals, it wouldn't be able to record them in their full HD resolution. It would have to scale the video down to 720x480 in order to meet DVD-Video standards.
If you wanna record HDTV, you'll need a high definition DVR.
