I am having difficulty getting my LCD to stay on I replaced the inverter and when I plug it in the screen goes on for a second , then goes off, especially when I mouse click on a function. I have no problem using my external monitor. Will my external monitor function if I completely remove the LC screen from the main cpu??

Yes most likely. The LCD is kind of a sub system. I'd leave it alone though. Might need to use it to change bios someday.
