I just got an Epson 1260 scanner today and when I try to install the software that came with it, I get the following error.. 'A fatal error has occurred. Click OK to quit' So I click OK and then it tells me this.. 'Runtime error. Abnormal program termination' Has anybody come across this before? I have shut down all my background programs (antivirus etc) so there is nothing to conflict with it and still no luck. Thanks Homer

Hi homer. If the driver on the Epson site is newer than what came with the scanner, you can try that. If it doesn't, double-click My Computer [in Windows XP, click Start, then double-click My Computer], double-click the EPSON CD-ROM icon, then double-click the Epson icon.) 2. When you see a message asking you to disable anti-virus software, click 'Continue'. 3. Read the license agreement, then click 'Agree'. 4. At the Software Installation screen, click 'Install'. 5. Follow the on screen instructions to install each application. After each one is installed, click 'Next' to continue. Note that EPSON Smart Panel™ installs in several steps.
