Specs: Windows 7 32bit
Looking to upgrade an old Radeon x300SE
Here are my specs...
PentiumD 830 DC 3.0Ghz
Asus P5LP-LE Mobo (1 - Pci-e X16 1.1v)
600w Ocz ModXstream PSU
Win 7 32bit

I was wondering if I would have to go with a Radeon HD4xxx series card or if something like an HD5570 would run alright...
I am in need of your brilliance!!! Share the Love!

BTW, although it's made by ASUS, it's an HP board. You might wanna consider dumping the crappy Pentium D & replacing it with a Core 2 Duo E4x00 or E6x00 :

Low end direct x 11 gaming video cards like hd 5570 will drown when running direct x 11 games plus u have the worse gaming CPU that will bottleneck the video card. Any gaming video card around 50 bucks will be fine.
Don't buy power hungry video card.

You know the real meaning of peace only if you have been through the war.

Does that mean the board is ok to hold onto, upgrade the CPU?
Or dump them both?
Any suggestions?

That depends on what you are expecting. If you just want a moderate improvement, go for the moderate video card. If you are looking for a significant improvement, then save the money and replace the system entirely, it is not worth spending too much on it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
