I was wondering what kind of chip would be better for gaming and multimedia?
I am stuck between the:
Athlon Venice 3200+
or
Pentium 4 530J PrescottI know the Pentium has more MHz but I am hearing the Venice performs better...
What are your thoughts?

AMD is generally better for gaming. Multimedia spans alot of different things. What do you do that is "multimedia". If you play music and videos, your CPU won't make much of a difference. If you do image editing then the CPU could speed things up but RAM is most important so I wouldn't get Intel or AMD based on multimedia performance. Here is a good CPU selection guide: http://www.computerforum.com/showpost.php?p=85194&postcount=4
Build-in-Progress:
NZXT Nemesis Elite
Athlon 64 3200
Abit An8
OCZ EL PE Rev2 DDR400
X800PRO

I perfer AMD. I am by far not rich so I get more bang for my foodstamp.
When we can go to war using a keyboard and a mouse, America will truly kick ass

Well the problem is I do alot of both...Such as gaming...Doom III Halo PC, BF2, call of duty united offensive, HL2
and Multimedia...yes music and videos, I also edit videos, do alot of cd burning, Cd ripping, downloading music, WinRAR, extracting and compressing, usually i do several of these at a time. or known as "multitasking"
So If i do both i don't know which one to pick
