I'd say 200 watts would be enough... 250 at the most. Thats if your talking about for a whole Pentium 3 system. Don't put a whole 200 watts just on the processor.

You have to take the whole system into consideration. RAM and the drives also draw power. But 250 should do fine for a normal system. However, more doesn't hurt.

Can't put my hands on the specs at the moment, but as I remember it a P4 cpu draws about 70-80 W, and the P3 cpu slightly less. (That is just the cpu).

Noo... im just replacing my old motherboard and processor... My power supply outputs 140 watts... would that run a p3 550mhz cpu?

140 W would be cutting it pretty close, at best. If it's not enough (as it may not be under load) your system will freeze up.
Summary: I have 2 Pentium 3 CPU's (SEC)of the same exact speed and I'd like to put together 1 PC using both of them. A couple of questions: Where can I get a motherboard for this, and will XP pro, or 2000 pro ...
Summary: If you have a Pentium 3 computer with say 6.4ghz hard drive, can you put a 20 to 40ghz hard drive in the computer? Or if it has only 64mb can I move it up to say 512mb? I also have a Shuttle AV40 Sock...
