Pcmcia card wireless dwl-650+

i installed the software for this card and then inserted the card and switched the machine back but it gets half way through loading windows and stops, i remove the card and it carrys on loading. the first time i tryed to install it installed some of the files ok then went to carry on and the machine froze so what could be wrong
its a d-link wireless pcmcia cardbus adapter the model num is -650+ the box and product on dlinks site dont say recommended ram or cpu speed on in the manual or in the tech support section do they say this

well the box doesnt say how much ram u need or what cpu u need nor does the product info on dlinks site but accordin 2 the manual u need at least a 300 mhz cpu but the machine has got a 263 mhz cpu so i dont know if this is what the prob is but i wish they would of detailed thos on the box
