Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate
I want to hook up a 3 monitor display (an extended desktop). I have a Quadro FX 4000 video card already hooked up to the PCI-E 16x slot on my motherboard, and i have purchased a second nvidia graphics card (GeForce 8400 GS) PCI card. I have installed them both but my system only uses the PCI-E card. I have a Dell Precision 490, 4GB ram, 2x 2.0 GHz processors.

Yes you should be able ti do that if you want to. Best success with it if you use cards that can use the same drivers.

Did you check in Device Manager to see if the card is showing in there?

Install the card as far away from the PCIe as possible.
