Hi, I`ve tried to connect a PCI Tv turner, on both a W98 pc and an XP pc. I shut down the computer, install it, turn it on and it does nothinng, monitor blank and computer not starting. I turn it off, remove it and PC is back to normal. I´m clueless. Any help would be great.
I have an integrated video card, if it´s of any use.

I'm assumimg you're installing a TV tuner card (has no 15 pin VGA or DVI video port), and not a video card with a TV tuner on it (has a 15 pin VGA or DVI video port).

Unplug or otherwise remove the AC power to your computer case/power supply whenever you do anything inside the case. ATX mboards are always powered in some places, even when Windows is Shut Down or in Standby or Hibernate modes as long as live AC is being supplied to the ATX power supply.

Follow the directions that came with the card. Sometimes you must install software first, sometimes you must install the card first. If you were supposed to install the software first and that isn't what you did, you may need to remove the card, boot at least once, boot again, then install the software, then install the card.

Make sure the card is all the way down it it's slot.

If you still have a problem......
The slot you plug the card into must have an IRQ available that the card can use. If the card won't work in the PCI slot you try it in, remove the AC power to the case and try plugging it into another PCI slot, restore the AC power. Avoid using the PCI slot on the end closest to the center of the mboard if you can - that slot is forced to share it's IRQ with your onboard video and there are lots of cards that won't work in that slot or won't work properly in that slot.

If you're trying to install a newer PCI tuner card in the K6 machine, the problem may be that the motherboard's PCI 2.1 standard isn't compatible with the newer card's PCI 2.2 (or 2.3) spec.

The Movie PC:
Pentium III-S CPU: 1.66GHz, 158MHz FSB, 512K
2GB DDR333
7950GT AGP
Vista/XP
X-Fi
Optoma 1280x720 projector
JBL 5.1 audio
and now 89 upconverted WMV-HD flicks
