I need to set-up a PCMCIA Vodafone card on a friends Desktop!
There are plenty of these adapters around if you start looking but what I need to know is:Is there one type just for Wireless Network cards etc.. And another type for a Vodafone Mobile Connect PCMCIA card?
My hunch is they're the same but some sellers are cashing in on advertising and bumping the price!
Thanx for any info?

There are two types of pcmcia cards. Type II and type III. An good adaptor would accept both. Why bother with a wireless pcmcia card for a desktop system when wireless pci cards are so resonablely priced? Or he could go usb to wireless.
You also might want to contact Vodafone to see if they have an adaptor that connects the phone to a desktop system.
I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

I guess I didn't give enough detail!
I'm looking for the Adaptor that you plug the PCMCIA into!
This Adaptor slots onto a PCI slot.
These Adaptors are sold for Wireless Networking and for use with Vodafone's GSM PCMCIA card!I don't need wireless Networking but to set-up GPRS connection for Internet access and eMail as there is no land-line available!
Question:
Will the PCI to PCMCIA Adaptor that works for Wireless networking also work with the Vodafone PCMCIA card?

Thanx for your help
