hello my computer that i have ordered is unfortunatly a small form factor ( i need small as i dont have alot of space) but it is very hard to find a good low profile AGP 4x graphic card from Nvidia so i was looking around for PCI cards ( i know old technology) but i have found this one it's model is 3dfr4000p which is a wierd number but if you google it you'll get the results right away i would like to run Vistas aero when it finally gets relased and 128MB seems fair to play it nice so what is your opinion on this card
another thing how do you remove old posts i mean i thought i removed certain posts months ago only to find them later with a bunch of replys that i do not need :P.
It's really sad Im great when it comes to other people's computers but when it comes to my own i always get stuck with the weird stupid porblems that i haveno idea what happened :S

"i thought i removed certain posts months ago "
Really? Not sure why you'd think that:
First and foremost, any post made to Computing.Net will remain on Computing.Net until a moderator chooses to remove it. While requests for removal are sometimes granted, at no time is the owner of Computing.Net obligated to remove a post made onto the site. In all but certain circumstances, a post made on the site will stay on the site for use by future users.
We've heard that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could produce the complete works of Shakespeare; now, thanks to the Internet, we know that is not true

You cannot remove posts...there are there to stay "forever" unless removed by the moderator.
I hate SFF PCs. IMO, they're nothing but a hassle. Very limited choices for replacement or upgrade parts (as you well know), many parts are proprietary, & they usually have poor airflow characteristics. And I basically advised against buying it in this post:
http://www.computing.net/cpus/wwwboard/forum/13228.html
You can use a PCI video card, but don't expect to be able to do any substantial gaming with it, if that's your plan. I think you're giving up too quickly trying to find a low profile AGP card...& don't limit yourself to just nVidia. I think I told you in another post it's the height of the card that makes it low profile, not the bracket. If you find a low profile card with a standard height bracket, you can always change it...but the low profile bracket will set you back another $5-10 or so, plus you'll have to get one that has the video-out holes in the right locations. If you're not concerned about the card warranty, you could get one with a standard size bracket then simply use a pair of tinsnips to cut it down to size...then bend a 90 in it & drill a hole for a screw.
It seems that most low profile cards use 64-bit memory? Here's a couple of possibilities...not great cards, but they're low profile & come with an extra bracket:

http://www.xpcgear.com/jetonmx4000.html

If it were up to me, I'd remove all of them, as I doubt any would be missed
Sadly, that is not the case

well then if i can squeeze a half height card in there how can i tell the height of it, is it obvious in pictures also where can i find the bracket or can i leave it braketless, and lastly what about the fan do i need to buy a new fan and if so where do i stick it since it is a sff

You insisted on SFF, so you're gonna have to deal with the fact that your upgrade choices will be severely limited.
I just had a look at newegg & this is the best low profile card I came across. It's a Radeon 9600 128MB/128-bit & is MUCH better than both the MX4000 (which sucks) & the FX5200. It doesn't have the low profile bracket though, so you'd have to come up with one, or modify the existing bracket to get it to fit:

You could probably leave it bracketless, but I wouldn't recommend it. And why do you all of a sudden need a cooling fan? That's one of the things I mentioned when I advised against going with SFF...they're generally cramped & have no place for added cooling fans.

ok so i have realzed it is hard to come by a low profile card because of the SFF (which im not complaining cause i need the SFFness) so can't i just place in a card without the bracket and if so what bad things can happen?? and lastly if the card is AGP 8x will it work at 4x?
It's really sad Im great when it comes to other people's computers but when it comes to my own i always get stuck with the weird stupid porblems that i haveno idea what happened :S

and also another question what if i just use a PCI card at 256MB of memory wouldn't that work good instead of using an AGP card thats hard to find?

If you weren't concerned about gaming, any old card would suffice...it wouldn't matter if it's PCI or AGP, or had 32, 64, 128, or 256MB memory. But since you mentioned that gaming is one of the things you wanna be able to do, you should try to get the best card you can.
The MX4000 sucks...it uses 64-bit memory & only supports up to DX7. It's basically a revamped GeForce2 MX400 w/8X AGP capability. And yes, 8X cards are backwards compatible with 4x.
The FX5200 is better, but it's still not a very good gaming card. It also uses 64-bit memory & although it supposedly supports DX9, it really doesn't do it well.
The Radeon 9600 is a fairly decent card...it uses 128-bit memory & fully supports DX9, but even it is showing it's age for modern games. It really depends on what games you wanna be able to play & whether you're willing to except low detail settings or not. Of the 3 cards, the R9600 is the best choice.
If you look at the pic for the R9600 at newegg, you'll see that the video-outs are located away from the end of the bracket where the 90 degree bend is, so if you wanted to modify it to fit in your case, it should be relatively easy:
http://tinyurl.com/hutmc
But if you look at a lot of the other low profile cards, the VGA-out is located close to the end where the bend is...not only that, but the VGA-out is on a short cable, so if you remove the bracket, it'll be hanging loose; If you look at this pic, you should be able to see what I mean:
http://tinyurl.com/rjj49

well isn't ok if its hanging loose and the games i want to play are just petty games that dont need much (my geforce2 MX is able to play the :p) but i more worried about vista i want to use the areo glass feature but it needs 128MB memory so i never follow those i always bump up the standards so im looking for 256MB
It's really sad Im great when it comes to other people's computers but when it comes to my own i always get stuck with the weird stupid porblems that i haveno idea what happened :S

256MB memory on a lower end card doesn't mean a hell of a lot. Even the R9600 won't benefit from 256MB...besides, you're only gonna be able to run at 4X anyway. You're building a "Vista-Capable" PC, not a "Premium-Ready" PC:
http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20060518-6863.html

so what i can't run the areo glass feature cause thats the only reason why i would buy vista and also to actually have a legal windows as i'm stuck with only my legal win 2k :S, i would like to be premium ready for vista is there no way i can have my computer use a PCI graphic card and run the areo feature?

ok well my other post is gone... can you put tape on the mother board?? to tape my graphic card in place (as i dont want to u se a bracket? so what i want to do is put duct tape from the top of the card and adhesf it to the board by taping straight on the board, is that safe?
