I've just been updating my drivers and have noticed PCI IDE Bus Master in the BIOS - currently disabled ?? default. I've done a google search and found some conflicting info, the MOBO manual is equaly un-informative. Can anyone advise what it is and whether it should be enabled. My system is as follows:-
AMD AthlonXP 1800+ CPU, 512 Mb DDR RAM (PC2100) – 2 x 256Mb DIMMS, MSI KT3 Ultra2 Motherboard with latest Via 4in1 drivers,
60 Gb Maxtor HDD (Primary Master), A-Tek Geforce MX440 64 MB DDR (Detonator V44.03), Soundblaster 4.1 PCI Sound Card, Lite-On 48x24x48 CDRW (Secondary Master), Artec 16x DVD ROM Drive (Secondary Slave), 6in1 Internal Card Reader.

There is a school of thought that says use the Bios setting for the Bus/Master and NOT the Via 4/1 version.
