Can I install a wireless wan card in a pci express x16 slot, or is the pci express x16 only for a graphics card? This computer has no wireless modem and only one open pci express x16 slot... What does this computer need to communicate with my home router? Anyone want to help out an old fart who can barely program his hp12c calculator?

PCIe x16 slots are for graphics cards. Wireless cards are usually standard PCI but I believe some are now coming as PCIe x1. You can also get a USB wireless adapter.
