August 14, 2010 at 09:45:51
Specs: Windows 7
I built two computers and there both doing the same thing, there looking for a driver for a PCI device, I’ve tried disabling other devises and then removing it and it just comes back, here’s what I have.
ASUS mother board P&H55-M LE Series
CPU Intel socket LGA 1156 Freq. 2.93
Memory DDR3 2Gig
Operating systems, window vista ultimate on the first computer and windows 7 ultimate on the second, there is nothing plugged in to the PCI slots everything is interrogated into the mother board and the drivers have been installed, I’ve also tried locating a driver from the motherboards software and disabling some options in the Bios with no luck, does anybody out there know what’s up with this.

"there is nothing plugged in to the PCI slots everything is interrogated into the mother board"

Many integrated devices operate on the PCI bus. You must have missed one of them when installing the drivers. Post the correct model number for your board...."P&H55-M LE" isn't right.

EDIT: sorry, I spotted the correct model under your name - "P7h55-m pro motherboard"

Are you sure you installed ALL the drivers? Chipset, IDE, video, audio, LAN, etc?

With the first computer I allowed the ASUS software to install everything by itself, the second computer I installed everything manually one driver at a time starting with the chipset then LAN, Audio, Video, everything seems to be working fine including the IDE. I’ve now disabled my SATA drive and I’m installing win 2000 on the second hard drive just to see if it makes a difference.
I’ll keep you posted.
So much for that idea, seems Microsoft has done something preventing me from using my old 2000 disk, anyway I did find an old IDE hard drive with XP, it’s doing the same thing.
