Comment: Can I plug my legacy PCI card in my new PC's PCI Express (32bit) slot? It does fit ok but will it cause a mushroom cloud over Wiltshire (England) if I power up the PC? I am not talking about the 64bit PCIx dedicated graphics slot, but the two 'any use' slots.

Reply: (edit) I think that op is asking to put pci cards in pci slots.... Of course you can put a pci card in one of those any use pci slots. But you should not put your pci card in a pci express x1 or pci express x16 slots.

Reply: (edit)Ah! I think I get it guys. See, I have these two slots in my new Intel motherboard that are exactly like legacy PCI slots. This is because they ARE standard PCI slots... Right? And the strange slot is a PCI Express graphics card slot taking the place of the obsolete AGP slot? And 12 gauge cartridges go in a shotgun? (We don't know about that stuff here in England.) I still don't get the 14 inch wheel bit thou! I must be a bimbo I guess! Thanks for the help. I am going to assume I can put an old style PCI card in the slot *if it fits* and boot the pc up. Watch out for that mushroom cloud on the other side of the Atlantic thou!
