Does anyone know how to check if your board is 1.0 or 2.0 i have looked in my system board documentation, im looking for a better way than just plugging in a 2.0 device and finding out if it works or not. I need to find out a better way. Thanks so much!

PCI 2 slots much are longer than a PCI 1 slot, also you cant look at your motherboard's manufacturer specs or in the manual and it will tell you if you have the new pci slots. If it doesnt mention them, then you prolly dont have them. Most motherboards that support them only carry 2 pci 2 slots and the rest pci 1 slots. So look at your motherboard and see if 2 of the pcis are longer than the others, if so , then you have 64 bit pci. Also, you cannot put a pci 2 card into a pci 1 slot, so you wouldnt have to see if it worked because you wouldnt even be able to plug it in properly. however, pci 1 cards still work in pci 2 slots perfectly.

Most manufacturers give very specific information in the description of the boards on their internet sites. Check there!
