Hey guys, im looking to upgrade the RAM in my computer, i have XP Pro and it hates 128MB RAM, i have two options in front of me, i can either upgrade to 512 of pc600, or 384 of pc800, thats what i can afford, so my question is this, which will offer me more performance? does the extra 128 of pc600 make up for the less speed the pc600 provides? or is it better to go with the lesser amount of memory at pc800, thanks for any answers you could give me.

If you are using more than 256MBs of ram under winXP Pro then you are fine performance wise on the amount of ram you have so I would go with the PC800.

I'm not about to get into speed and performance charts here. But I'd go for the larger amount of RAM. I run 98SE and it uses all my 256, so seeing you have ever-hungry XP, the more you can get in there the better IMHO.

Summary: I currently have 640 mb of RDRAM. I have 640mb because I have 2 pc600 64mb sticks and two pc800 512 mb sticks in my computer. Will I get better performance if I take out the 128mb of pc600 or should ...
