Comment:

Unit started not wanting to restart until I let it set for sometime. All at once it would not power up at all. Installed new power switch, power supply and motherboard. Still it won't run expcept once in awhile when I remove the power cord it will start and run for several seconds after plugging it in. The led's flash off and on and then the unit will keep turning on and off rapidly until I remove the power cord. If I leave the power lead (I think it is called the AXT connector) that supplys voltage to the cpu off, the unit will run for about 3 or 4 seconds and then nothing. If I reconnect the lead, nothing happens. The unit does not ever respond to the On/Off switch. Only time I get power is when I disconnect the power cord and then connect it. I have replaced the power cord and that did not help either. I removed all boards and reinstalled them one at a time and I still have the power problem. Have disconnect all the drives and did the same.

I am looking for any other suggestions!

Thanks

Sounds like your mobo is messed up. Sometimes resetting the cmos helps.

Have you cleaned the CPU and heatsink
and applied new thermal compound?

1. Unplug the power supply cable and short the proper jumper on the motherboard. Most of the times this jumper is near the battery.

If you can't locate the jumper.....

2. Unplug the power supply cable, take the CMOS battery out and wait for a few minutes. Then put it back in.

Pulled the battery and can't see any jumper that might be connected with the cmos.

Problem still exists and it looks like the next attempt would be to replace the cpu.

Thanks
