What exactly happens when you start it, does the power supply fan work, are there any lights lit on the mobo before you turn on the power supply and have the power supply just plugged into the AC power source, are there any post beeps, do you have on board video or a video card installed, is the video card power supply cable installed if required, have you removed the video card and enabled the on board video, did you properly install the cpu, the cooler and does the cpu cooler fan work, did you check that your ram is compatible with the mobo's manufacturer specs, have you tried using one stick of ram, is the ram secure in the slots, is the ram in the correct slots, are the mobo jumpers set up correctly, is the hard drive installed correctly (power and data cable) can you hear it or feel it spin up when you turn on the computer, is the mouse and keyboard installed?

Thanks for replying. The fans (PSU and CPU) both work and the drives spin, but the monitor never gets a signal. I've tried every combination of RAM stick. The components are all fully compatible. There's no video card (it's built into the mainboard). The case doesn't have a speaker, so I don't get any beeps.

Struggling to think of a way to figure out which of the three components is faulty :-s

Are you benchtesting or did you just slap it in the case without bothering to test it 1st?
