my pc won't boot up. when i push the power button, hd amber light is on for a couple of seconds, then goes out. cpu fan is working, but that's it. i tried to boot it with restore disc, didn't help. i had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, but i inserted a mcafee floppy rescue disc and it worked. this time it doesn't. i replaced the master hd with the slave and it worked. i installed all the security updates, clicked the restart button - and now this one will not boot up either... i reseated all the components, but it still doesn't work. any advice?
thank you very much!

Have you tried a new IDE cable?Have you tried the other IDE slot on your motherboard?IS your slave drive now jumpered as master?
