I left my PC on when I went to bed last night, as I often do. This morning I tried accessing my PC but nothing happened. Moving the mouse or tapping the keyboard didn't bring my PC back to life. I turnned the PC off via the power switch on the CPU, then tried turning it back on again. The CPU started beeping (but not in the usual way), the HDD lights started flashing, but the monitor remained blank. Nothing else happened. I turned the power off from the wall socket then on again, but still nothing happened. What happened & what should I do? Many thanks for your advice!

The good news is that your motherboard and CPU are working ok. The beeps are telling you that the system failed the Power On Self Test because something isn't working. That 'usually' indicates either a memory (RAM) or Graphics adapter problem.
