Is there a way to improve the visability of text when running a S-video cable from your PC to TV. I know people do this to watch movies but what's the point if you cant read the title of the file you are trying to get on your TV?

No you can not. Normally the DVD resolution is 720x480. That is very low compare to your monitor. Normally, low end monitor will do 1024x768, but some high end monitor will do up to 1900x1200. Mine, I use a 23" apple cinema display on a PC and get up to 1900x1200 (HD). I also know that some other brand are also available (sony 23" LCD).

Some other alternative way I am thinking about but have not try it yet. If you have a HDTV and your video card have DVI output, you can try to connect to the TV through the DVI connector. Well, that way you may get up to 1900x1200.

Good luck

If you have an nVidia card there's all kind of options to help with this problem, flicker filter, sharpness, etc.
If you have an ATI card, then I don't know.

Use the magnifier function.
