My gfx card has a 4 pin s-video hole and an av hole next to it. I want audio and video to be passed to my television which is in another room from my pc. I have also have a sound card. on the back of the sound card (which is 5.1) i have a "front", "rear", "center", "mic" and "line in" hole. I have the option to buy a s-video/3mm jack to SCART cable which will do this. My question is which hole will the 3mm jack go into on my sound card? because it 5.1?

I don't think that will work. I beleive the length of the cable will be too long and the signal will degrade too much.

ususally they reccomend 10 feet or less for a s video cable, myself i had to get 20 feet because my tv and pc are that far away but i have to add the quality is still pretty good. if ur tv only has 2 speakers u can connect your audio to a decent stereo system with multiple speakers..

The manual should tell you where to connect speakers on the soundcard. Try it there. My guess would be front! If the sound isn't good also try center or rear.
mic and line in are going into the computer so they won't help!
BTW: you may have to enable the port you use at the control button of the soundcard!
