Specs: Windows XP, P4 2.6ghz/1gb ddr
Hello, I'm trying to connect my PC to my TV as the main monitor.

TV is an older 47" CRT projection that is 1080i HDTV with an HDMI connection (No DVI or VGA).

PC is an older Shuttle P4, 1gb ddr, with an integrated Radeon with only VGA and S-video.

If I got an old Geforce 4 with DVI and a DVI to HDMI cable connecting the PC to the TV's HDMI, will it work as the main monitor?

Using Windows XP and surfing the web, will the text be clear to read?

Money is tight, few bucks for the card and cable on ebay. Just looking for a cheap solution to use the old PC on my TV for watching standard definition avi files and streaming videos.

DVI and HDMI are the same except audio.

It should work but you never know if the tv will sync up correctly. Even new ones are odd. May have to play with it a bit.

They make cheap dvi to hdmi and then you'd have to use audio input to something.
