PC switches on but no one home.

Specs: Windows XP
I've just recently moved my PC from one end of the room and I think something has happened, everytime I put my PC on it starts up but no signal is getting to the monitor, the lights switch on and it becomes noisy with a loud beeping noise, anyone got suggestions?
Dont know the model of the PC as im not currently there so sorry for the vagueness.

The beeps have meaning and it is actually a good sign that you get them. Since this happened following relocation of the system it is possible either a RAM stick or perhaps the graphics card has become slightly dislodged from it's slot. Disconnect all power. Open the case and re-seat all cards & cables. ie remove the graphics card from it's slot and re-insert it. Same goes for RAM and also for the power & data cables.

To interpret the meaning of the beep code you need to know what BIOS version you have. I was going to suggest you visit http://bioscentral.com/ but I just got a security warning pop up about that site. It is up to you if you pursue a full diagnosis of your problem. I suspect that reseating your bits & pieces will solve it anyway.
