PC Switches on and off, No Beep, No Bios

May 8, 2009 at 15:05:34
Specs: Windows Vista

I tried to switch on my PC after a week long of inactivity. It switched on, but it would switch off on its own after about three to four seconds. It would automatically switch on on its own again after another five seconds, and the sequence repeats.
(By switching on, I mean the PC's fan, and lights in the CPU were on...)

Throughout all, this, there was no beep or bios, or any signal to the monitor.

Except once, I did manage to get past the beep stage, and booted up to Windows. I thought it was fine, but after I watched an avi file on vlc for a while, the whole comp crashed with a blue screen, and the same problem of the comp switching on and off on its own continued again.

Please help! Really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

And the blue screen error message was...???

Open the case, blow the dust out.

Nope. No dust. It's well maintained. The blue screen mentioned some physical memory dump, but I hit the reset button too quickly to read the rest...
