If it was bad RAM or a bad hard drive your PC would still turn on but you'd get a series of beeps from the BIOS, and in the case of a bad hard drive you would also get an error message on the screen.

Since you are not getting any of those things, I believe the motherboard may be faulty and needs replacing.

Have you checked your CPU heatsink for a build up of dust?

Overheating could be an issue.

As per #2, overheating often causes restarts. You can clean the CPU heat sink without dismantling it. Clean all vents and fans while you are at it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I've already tried cleaning it for dust and it didn't seem to do anything I don't think it is an overheating issue but I will try again and see what happens

"I don't think it is an overheating issue"

Did you check the CPU temp readings? Do you have hardware monitoring software installed?
