OS: XP Pro
CPU/Ram: P4 3GHz 768MB
Model/Manufacturer: Custom
Comment:
Hi guys,
My PC shuts down randomly when I try to play some online games. It shuts down like I pull the cord from the plug. It does not restarts automatically, and when I restart it from the button it starts normally. This may occur in random times. Is it a bad hardware issue or overheating?
Any help will be appreciated.

This can be caused by a number of things.
processor getting to hot,Bad ram, power supply
and so on. you will just have too narrow it down.

Ghostman could be right.

What are the exact error messages? If you are not getting a BSOD with a message, be sure to uncheck automatically restart and then post the exact error message you are getting.

Just posted simliar to this in another forum, I had the same thing, dont remember if it was my cpu or motherboard, but it was overheating and shutting down completely. I had to for the time, take the case off and stick a mini fan right on the motherboard, worked fine after that.

AMD all the way

if you dont get a BIOS message, then its probally a safety shut down. Probally b/c of overheating of your motherboard/cpu or your PSU is too low wattage.

my sister had a nice laptop that you had to put something under or else it would *blip* off.

I would tell you how cheap my computer is, but the nitrogen cooling for the 3.8ghz quad-core does get pretty expensive after a while
