I had recently taken a hard drive out of a friend's PC to put in my PC to image a new HD. When putting the drive back in the original, I receive 'OS not found' error. Sometimes just get blinking cursor. It shows up in the BIOS. I've put a new IDE cable in and made sure everything is connected right.I verified the drive is still good by putting it back in my PC. Also, the CD-ROM & A: aren't bootable. Any suggestions would be great.thanks

What exactly do you mean when you say "to image a new HD" Were you copying his drive to yours or did you put something new on his? What do you mean your CD-ROM and A aren't bootable? Do you know how to enter BIOS and change bootsequence? Did you remember to reset jumpers on his drive? Sorry if this sounds condescending but a clear comprehensive question would get a more useful response.

My original pc's hard drive went out so I attempted to ghost a copy of my friend's PC's drive to a new drive I had purchased. The drive wouldn't load and the PC was under warranty so I sent it off 'cause there were other problems so I then borrowed my buddies PC for a while.Installed my new Hdrive in his PC with no problems and loaded up XP and my apps+data.I eventually put the drive back in my PC when I got it back with no problems. But now when I put that same drive BACK to my friend's PC(to ghost to his drive), I receive a blinking cursor or 'no OS found'.All the jumpers are right and BIOS settings are right. Sorry if this is confusing.
