Just had my PC shipped to NYC from Indiana. The computer is telling me "BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." It was shipped by UPS in heavily padded packaging. Are cables dislodged or is something more serious going on?

Quite possible something got dislodged during transit, not an unusual occurrence.

Just take the cover off and press everything in sight back in paying particular attention to the data and power cables of the hard disk(s) at both ends.
